This guy was a pain to catch and I don't really want to drown the apartment too much until he is leaving.

I can definitely relate. If it does come down to venting, try placing a few towels on the floor to prevent it from getting too wet. It's really a quick process once you secure the fish. You'll probably spend more time chasing it around the tank than actually venting it. But hopefully the original owner will verify what you have. You are trying to sex two fish, right?

I don't care the sex of the fish really. The person that started this thread is hoping for a male and a female.
The orange one in the video is mine also in the first picture. The second picture is Justin's fish.
My fish came with a tank that I bought and I had the option of taking the fish or not buying the tank, so I decided to buy the tank and the fish.
Trying to find homes for the fish so I can use the tank I bought

LOL...Maybe Justin can come over and help you then! Tell him that you'll knock down the price if he nets the fish and vents it. Other than seeing a pair of RD/Midas breed or watching a female lay eggs, venting is your only other option.

I sent the gf the picture and she thinks its a girl.
She said it looked like the fish has two circles.
We will see if she is right later on

I think its a male
I watched him swim around and only see one spot and now something is coming out of it, a pointy thing which from what I read suggests male. I tried to get some pictures, but the camera and myself did not get them that well
But from watching him swim, he only has one spot (not sure what else to call it)

Also, the water is that colour due to an algae bloom I believe. I had to put it next to a window for now and the water turned a little greenish. The parameters are
ammonia-0ppm
nitrite-0ppm
nitrate 10-20ppm (closer to 10)

That looks like a male, though I thought I had a young male that looked similar to yours until it spawned with my lyonsi.
