Are red devils fun to keep

I have 4- they may be midas, or a mix..

but the male has a lot of personality.

Interactive fish, aggressive... a little less than the FH i believe.

Red Devils is another great great treasure of the hobby to keep.

They can be great fun to keep, if kept correctly, otherwise they can be a complete disaster.

Nicely put !

They are owner-interactive fish, often very aggressive, to the point of charging the glass to try and fight off people, dogs, cats etc .
They also often love to dig in the substrate, creating a lovely moonscape ion your tank !

So, if all that appeals to yo, and you have at least a 75G tank, then a RD could be perfect !

Another poster, above, compared them to flowerhorns. In my experience (having kept 2 x midas/RD's and 4 x FH's), FH's are just as owner-interactive but not quite so territorially aggressive, although they are very, very similar really. The only barking mad, "kill everything that went near" fish I had was a RD though.

Oh, aggressive adults may well also attack your hands when you do tank maintenance, and are quite capable of drawing blood.

I have a FH that does attack hands and draws blood. None of my Midevils does....

Hey Miguel, next time you cross the pond stop over, will hoist a few and you can stick your hand in Psycho's tank, "he's a no Midevil he's a Fullevil" said with an Italian accent much funnier......HAHA!:D
