red disk ?

Im ready to explode ...
I have a coral catshark ,
everything was going perfectly fine till about 5 days ago he stopped eating, Ive had the shark for about a year
the water was fine , he ate like a pig . the skin coloration was the same , just his breathing had gotten really heavy over the past week and a half.
i thought it was normal he just didnt want to eat or anything
now literally 5 minutes ago , I seen him swim up the glass to find that he as a red disk looking thing on his underbelly
it looks like a rash but its hard to tell , its about the size of a middle fingernail
I'm honestly worried he wont make it,
he doesn't swim around like he used to anymore and he just breathes heavily
he wont even nibble at food,
but his skin color is the same..
is there anything i can do , please help.. i cant get a pic of it . cause he wont swim around

Let's get the basics out of the way:
Tank size, tank mates, actual water parameters (pH, temp, salinity and ammonia).

Any changes (type of salt mix, bigger water changes, new fish)?

The red spot is probably leading to the not eating. You need to keep it clean, and it will heal on it's own. Tracking down the cause might be harder. Could be a freak rubbing that openned it up, could be something in the water going after the shark.

other than another coral cat, and a chocolate chip starfish , they are the only animals in the tank , all rock work is in my sump , so nothing can scratch it , its a half sandless bottom tank, i left the shark alone for a couple hours , the breathing has slown down a bit to what it used to be , he took a couple bits of the mackerel but i think the skin is to rubbery for him to bite through , as for the red down , it has a gone down in size which im really happy about ! i ll keep you posted thankyou for your reply , i hope he makes it , ive had him for so long , would be crushed if i lost him.
