Red dovii

I have a question.. I am getting ready to order a group of red dovii fry from cichlids of the Americas to grow out.. I've been in love with these fish and have a pair of regular colored dovii currently...Are all of the red dovii in the hobby from the same pair of original red dovii? I think Guatopemel was the first person I saw post them on YouTube in the United States. (Not sure) the reason I ask is because I don't want to end up line breeding them and if I can get fry from two different genetic lines that would be ideal. Or should I plan on outcrossing them to wild type to produce hets to grow out and breed back to the original reds..? I know this is s all a long time out from now but I'm just wondering about everyone's opinion here.

I was planning to get a group of them too and get some unrelated blue dovii from TUIC. The red dovii havent been around long enough and there arent many unrelated pairs yet so for the sake of genetics I'd out cross.

More than likely they all come from one source it's not like you have people catching Red Dovii frequently if there's a honey hole it's location is being guarded fiercely lol, but sure someone looking to make money will tell you F1s available lol. Look up MAURICIO PARRA that's all I'm gonna say.

Great looking male. I bought 3 fry from cota about 9 months ago at 1 inch. One got killed as they were in a grow out tank after a few weeks. As they grew one faded right away and the other still blue. As they grew the blue started fading but late at about 6 inches or so. He became the male as the fast fader ended up being female. They don't het along but so I put in a female blue dovii and they hit it off. Got frys gave them away to a buddy. Now waiting for the next batch.

Was wondering if you got any fry yet from your male. Also Im thinking breeding it out of the line with a blue and then find a fader from that line and cross it back to the male to keep the line fresh a bit fresher would help with deformities or too much Incest.
