I noticed yesterday that my Texan has some sort of red growths, one coming from under his gill and the other from the rear on his side. They look like red hikari pellets. He seems to be acting normal so far though but I have never seen this before. The rest of my fish seem normal.

Does anyone have a clue as to what these are?

Ive heard of those and people described them as pimples. I would try 3 teaspoons of salt per gallon. You should still wait for someone with s little more experience first

Thanks. Any idea what the name might be? And that is aquarium salt?

Any idea what it is? Is yours a texan? Mine seems to be dissipating. I added aquarium salt.

Mine is a green texas. Mine looks like it goes through each side on base of top fin. Guess i could try salt

Well I just added aquarium salt so far. My LFS didn't have any ethromycin (or however it is spelled) and without really knowing what it is I don't want to just start adding chemicals.

So far tho one on the tail seems to be disappearing and the one in the gill is gone from what I can see.

Added 2 tbsp of salt per 5 gallons yesterday. Took out plants too will see how it goes. Looks like the pimples are losing their pink tips already.
