For tankmates you could try a small school of lemon, black skirt or bleeding heart tetras.I like to use PFS or quick crete sand, get some manzinita wood too! Good luck with your tank and breeding

They all seem to be fighting now.. Not sure why...

redheads usually spend most of their time sifting through sand for morsels of food. without sand or decor to peck at, they got nuthin to do. they want to graze all day on sand & messy driftwood etc.
