hi everyone. i just wanna know if they prefer current or bubbles? and also please give me some info on how to keep it alive longer. i have a feeling mine is dying soon.

This my favorite wolf and I've kept them in tanks with regular water movement caused by the filters and they seemed fine with that. They are very greedy fish, not picky at all. What makes you say you think yours will die soon?

Mine seems to prefer to stay on the side of the tank with still water as opposed to the current.

Why do you think yours is dying?

his colouration is becoming really bad. and he refuses to eat. i have a feeling when i wake up tomorow, i will found him dead. :(
and also, i dont know whats wrong with the water. it became cloudy very fast, and i did a 90% water change the day before. this happened for
many times. i think there is something wrong with the filter. if not, do you think i should also change the water frequently? if so, how many times a week is the best?
thank you very much for helping.

How long has the tank been up and running? It sounds like it's going through a mini cycle which shouldn't happen by adding one 4" fish. Did you add anything else? What size is the tank?

As for his color, according to your pic he's in a bare bottom tank, this will greatly decrease his coloration.

One 50% water change per week should be sufficient unless it's heavily stocked.

its a new 2ft tank, with new setup, and new water, everything is new, and its kinda empty in there. i just put a cave in there for him to hide. he is the only one in the tank. what kind of setup(sand, rock, filters etc) you think its best for him to have a nice stay?

So you didn't cycle it first? Check your ammonia levels.

That is your problem.. Your tank is not cycled. Do 50-75% water changes each day and keep a close watch on him. Do you have any other tanks?

Wolf fish are hardy but I wouldn't cycle a tank using one, they are too expensive if you lose it.

When I first got mine he didn't eat anf hid for about three weeks. I put some small fish, Danios in and they gradually started to disapear. Now he eats anything and everything.

Give it a chance and don't give up.
