ya, it is part of their color scheme.

A lot of people do not realize that. I have heard that question asked before.

ya, it is part of their color scheme. Red is good as long as it doesn't look like something besides color.....abrasions, sores, blood, fuzzy, nothing like that.

You consider thee color wheel and how you add colors together to make other colors.....JD already have almost every color on the wheel - why not red? They already have all the chromatophores needed to make red. So then, red it is.

I've seen this coloration before on jds I've kept. Totally normal doesn't indicate any issues.
