The idea of different Erythrinus species comes from the colour variations (e.g. spec. Peru), but until today there should be only one species even though fishbase mentions Erythrinus kessleri.

rainbow, red, red hi fin,all mean erythrinus sp.
theres erythrinus erythrinus, erythrinus sp. peru, and then another recently described.
but i dont remember its name.
theyre all pretty much the same.
There are two Erythrinus. Erythrinus erythrinus which is the fish pictured in the first post and Erythrinus Sp. peru which is an undiscribed species that has been in the hobby for a little while now. I have had one for about 5 years now.
The names Rainbow and red wolf seem to be used in reference to both fish. There is no doubt that these are different species. Described or not.
Erythrinus erythrinus is a slightly larger fish and can reach 10", It is very active and quite out going.
Erythrinus Sp. peru smaller reaching 8". Can be quite shy by comparison to the Ery. ery.
