Maybe, at one point, they decided to breed, and that was just a pattern he noticed on his females that didn't apply to his males.

Just a thought, I don't know the "E True Hollywood Story" here, but I thought I'd toss in my 2 cents....

Can't wait for his answer I never heard of Pirayas breeding in a home tank has anyone this would be BIG NEWS for Piranha enthusiasts..........

They could also look wider. From what I understand, females piranhas have a wider body type, although it is barely noticeable and not always 100% true.

If you don't mind me asking but who is Oliver Lucanus and how in the world could he, she or whatever knows that they where female without killing them and opening them up, I've a few Pirayas and from what I understand there is NO way to tell of any Piranhas sex, this is not a shot at you or anything If theres a way to tell for sure I really would love that info and I know many others would as well?

P.S I hope I just disunderstood you if so then sorry for the dumb ?........

Oliver is one of the first guys that imported these fish into North America in 1995-96. Prior to that, they were not available in the States at all!. All you guys are lucky that they're so abundantly available. 3" ones use to be $250.00 each!

He has collected them himself, and cut many open, and that's what he said.

Hummm, iding piranhas is one thing but being able to sex them (without killing the fish) by just looking at them is another thank you anyway............

i just said that Oliver, has caught them in Brazil himself, and eaten them, and cut many open, and that's what his statement is based on. ask anyone who's kept piraya for more than 8 years ago, knows who I'm talking about.
