Red side barred midas

No, it wasn't that much. Rapps had them listed as "Red Barred Midas, San Francisco Libre". She was about 5 inches when I got her.

Very nice looking female. I got my male from Jeff last February as well. Right after super bowl. Went from 5" to 12-13" beast status
 
Yours is what I was hoping for when I got mine, but red. Yours is grey. Was he red when he was younger and lost it? Rapps tells me most of the offspring I have will be barred, and I'm hoping to get a really big barred red midas male. He says I won't know for sure whether they'll be barred or piebald until they're about 5 inches.

If I end up with barred red midas out of this clutch of fry, I"d hate to have them go from red to grey at 10 inches.

These 2 are the first Midas I've ever had. I really like 'em a lot. My tank started out as a Vieja tank, but I could see it turning into an Amph/Trimac tank for sure.
 
His facial, head area does get red when he's right underneath the light and his mood. My lighting in my tank is very dim so you can't see the light red on him. After water changes its a lot more noticeable. Not as red as my festae but u can notice the red head face. Looks really cool on him
 
Same red color your female has in the video is how my male gets as well. I notice it comes n goes on his mood. Hopefully your fry come out looking sweet. Would like to see what they look like once bigger
