Red snook x bp spawn

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, they're being little bastards and not letting me get any pics whatsoever. Here are the only three decent ones I could get. The first two are of the darker striped one. The third is basically what most of the rest look like. If you compare these to the last update pic of the striped one, you can really see the forehead difference.

selling any?

Well, I'm keeping 3 for sure, and there's another member here that has been talking to me about the other 5. I'm waiting to hear back from him right now. I'll let you know what comes of it. Who knows, I'll still have the other 3to think about, too.

Nice. Very interesting in deed. Hope some babies survive so we can see what develops. I have a female parrot that will spawn with about anyone but the male parrot and Red TX both seem to be shooting blanks. I have some snooks and wondered about if they would spawn in a tank and if they were fertile. Thanks for letting us know about your new babies.

I thought you had a whole batch worth. I'm sure theres a lot of other people who want them more than me, I just thought they were interesting.

Well the original batch (which was very limited in numbers to begin with)slowly dwindled as they started weeding EACH OTHER out. Some were deformed (which is where a lot were lost), others just couldn't hang. They continued to spawn, and were taking up so many tanks, my wife flipped a lid and demanded her living room back (what nerve). So I tried combining batches, first of maybe 14, and second of about 30-40 if I remember right.......bad idea. Seemed ok at first. Then we left for a while and came back to find the remains of what use to be my second batch. Were only talking about a single batch separation, 2 weeks difference. Then the parrot tried tearing the snooks face off :irked:. So I cut it off there. To say it's been a rollercoaster is an understatement.

I took some new pics. Sorry, my picture skills still suck. I took these with no flash, whereas most of the others I've taken have been a mix. The no flash always seems to be blurry. The first is the most common appearance of the group. 6 of the 8 closely resemble this, with some small differences.

And this is the darker striped one. A couple of the others seem to be taking on the stripes, only much lighter.

And then there's this guy. He's been changing on just about a daily basis. He just continues to peel/fade (whatever you want to call it). He has really struck my interest.
