Any Ideas on what this red spot is? It looks like an abrasion from a rock but all my stuff is dull and plastic.

Even though your decor is dull, it could still be an abrasion if the ornate was trkying to squeeze in between a spot, especially after eating a meal and it had a bulge in it's belly.
But usually, I connect red irritated areas with bacterial infections. Melafix, or Maracyn are what I would use.
Plus big water changes. You have a lot of algae in your tank... what are you WC's like?

Well now that you mention it he likes to squeaze his fat *** inside of an ornament I recently removed. Add salt or melafix or anything?
Add melafix if you want and keep an eye on the area if it gets worse you may have to rely on stronger medication-Anne

I recently removed a piece of driftwood my ornate liked to hide in. He spent more tiem hiding than eating, and I was worried it would stunt his growth.
All my fish are growing faster now that the tank is barebottom and empty.
