That doesn't look like any Synspillum I've ever seen. This is my V Synspillum...aka Redheaded cichlid or Quetzal. He looks more like a midas.
Nice looking fish but the poor thing is WAY TOO BIG for the tank he's in. I feel really sorry for him.

He is no Midas. He just lacks the other colors. I could care less what he is honestly but the guys in the Flowerhorn forum prooved to me he was a color morph synspillum.

He likes being where he is to try to kill everything that passes. I have to figure out what other tank will fit in that space and be bigger than the 38 he has now.
Thats a red shock or rose queen (not too sure the exact difference).
Looks similar to my rose queen in body shape too:
From what I have read, they do have synspillum in the mix.
