I have two that was the same size when I bought them. The one that took silversides,frozen krill fairly quickly is 4" & thick while the other that took 9 months to ween off live and took it's 1st silversides is scrawny 3".

silversides mine loved it and got nice and fat untill somehow he managed to jump out the tank.... rip
