Red tail cat

I would never consider getting an RTC unless I had 4ft of width in my tank.

I still can't believe my gf bought me a 3" RTC. She said it was the cutest thing she'd ever seen. I applaud the effort, but I'm going to have a problem on my hands in the coming months. I was thinking of getting some pond liner and covering one of those kiddy pools from kmart? Then I'll run a small wet/dry and do weekly water changes. Sound possible?

thx ill keep that in mind when buying my next tank.do u think it would do good in a pond???
as long as the pond's temp will never go below 73F.

I keep my RTC in a 450 gal polyethylene stock tank with a 1200gal/rated bead filter pushing 1800gal/hour. He only 20" long and has eaten 4 1 1/2lb live channel cats in a week (not meant to be food). The 450 tank was under $200 and I installed a 24" x 24" lexan window to be able to look at him from more than just the surface.
