Was just wanting to know peoples experience with these fish as I know people are always giving away not knowing the size they get I havnt heard of any one housing them for life to hear any experience would be great as im saving for a custom made tank for one. Marc

cool fish they are. as babys feed them hikari sinking carnivore pellets and watch em grow. you need I think a 300 gallon setup atleast no pics though. biggest fish I ever heard of being in aquaria. thought to give you some advice

I really think they are one of the best cats available in the hobby. That being said I decided that my 750 isn't big enough to hold one. Check out bigrich's thread on his jumbo cats. Go for it just provide as much space as possible.

Love, Love, Love my RTC, BUT we have plans of a pond in the fairly near future. He has grown like CRAZY in the past 6 months and eats like no other -it's fantastic!

What size tank is he in now? And how many inchs was he when you got him and now how big , im tempted to get one now and use my 120 gal as a grow out tank! How long you think he could live in a 120?

RTC is very a monster fish...be careful if u have other tankmates as anything that moves and is smaller than the RTC could become a meal ...
