Hi to all again... Anyone here knows why my catfish stop eating..? Water conditions is clear and well circulated... The fish does swim around but had no interested in food... This is the 2nd day i notice after we experiencing Stray Voltage which is now solved... Other fish seems to be eating just fine, but not my redtail cat...

Do, advise guys... Thanks a million...

How long have you had him? Have you added any new fish? Does he have white stringy poo, any spots on him? Is he flasing? Rubbing on rocks

Sorry for all the questions but we need more to go on.

I had him for almost a year now... He do tries to rub his back as if he is itching... But other fishes were fine tho.... Is it due to the reason that i removed the UV sterilizer...? He is about 18 inches long now... What could be wrong... I am very worried... The last time before i installed the UV sterilizer in, we use to have itching problem with all the other fishes but all were gone after installation and water change... But, this time what will be the cause..?

Flashing, and itching is the same thing.

It could be a number of different things wrong.

Best thing would be to find a Koi hobbyist/Farm in the area, and see if someone can scrape and scope for you. That will weed out any parasites, and then you can take it from there.

But ultimately, we need to know more information.. what are your water parameters?

*** now that I look at the pictures of them close up, I did notice that your koi is exhibiting signs of bloat- which is when their scales pop looking like a pinecone.- Bloat is due to 2 things, extreme cold water while being fed, which leads to them not being able to digest food, but the #1 reason is bacterial infection. It will kill your fish. And their is no treatment for it. The only thing you could do is salt to .3% (1 cup solar saly per 100 gallons) and hope for the best.***

I have a few questions for you. When your RTC feeds, how much is it eating? Does it eat enough to create a noticeable bulge? Temp will also play a role in how much your RTC eats.
Also I don't really notice any bloat on your koi, looks to be a plump female from the pictures I can see.

Being a KHA, you can tell from the sides of the koi the on set of bloat. You can see where the scales are separating from the side of him. They do not lay flat to it's sided. The koi is also a male.

My RTC eats pellets together with the koi... And eats a lot during those good feeding days as to now totally different... I do feed it with fresh meat like Mackerel fish meat which is slice in small portion... But, as to now he totally ignore it... The koi has also loses it's interest in the pellets given. It might be from a different supplier.. But i have 2 more smaller koi and they feed just fine...
