Just a general query, I'm not yet ready to set-up a pond as we're moving over the next 6 months (as soon as we can really), so there wouldn't be any point.

Have the opportunity to buy one of my utmost favourite fresh water monsters.. a teeny 1'' Rtc.

I will not take on an animal, if I cannot properly accommodate it as it grows. I would love this little guy, but how fast is he going to grow?

I am more than happy to keep buying bigger tanks, but will he out grow a 4 foot tank in 6 months? I'm not going to be stupid and gut-load it with food all the time.

Six months is fine. Just make sure the six months doesn't turn into a couple of years.

Hi guys I'm in the same boat except I won't have anywhere to put him once he outgrows it. Do you think I could find someone to buy it. Thanks

No. Don't buy a fish if you have no intention of housing him properly long term. And no, you can't give big catfish away.

six months should be fine there is more than 1 rtc in the tank am i right?

Yes, there are probably loads in that tank!

I have not bought any yet and I would only be buying one. I didn't want to buy him until I had everyone's' feedback here, reason being is that I will not take on an animal unless I know I can provide for it for life.

thank you, everyone for your feedback we really appreciate it! ;)
