It wouldn't matter. Even if the ray was 4 times the size of the RTC they will still try and eat the ray. Save the hassle and the sleep and don't put them together. You have an aggresive catfish who will do anything for food...
proble about half as long as the ray is wide. rays are foldible so they can be eatten by a smaller cat. the rct will out grow any ray even if it was larger then it to start. that is if the larger ray doesn't eat the smaller cat first.
I have a RTC that eat anything that it can shove into it's mouth. It even push against the glass to force into its mouth.
That would be an expensive snack, but well packed full of nutrients. I think you'd have to find a species that would stay large enough so that the rtc couldn't bother it. IMO if a ray is much larger than the rtc the rtc is not gonna chance it as he will see it as a potential predator to himself.
1+ i have a 6'' rtc in with a 8'' moto ray and they never fight and get along great keep in mind they are fed every day
