Most likely to be a water quality issue rather than any actual disease.
Split fins, redness & streaking in the tail are usually signs of stress assosicated with poor water
Check all youre water parameters in particular ammonia & Nitrite & carry out a 30-40% water change.
Report your parameter findings.

I agree!!!

Agreed...I bet your ammonia level is high. Poor fish...

What size tank is the fish in gallons AND dimensions please.
What type of filtration does the tank have ?
What other fish are in the tank?
What do you normally feed the fish and how often?
What is your normal water change frequency and % and how is the water treated?
how big is it? and how old? how long have you had it?
What is the temp of the tank? What's the PH? GH ?
What are your Ammonia, Nitirite and Nitrate levels ?
If you don't know any of these go and buy test kits and find out ?
Without this detailed information we are only making wild guesses ... supply the full parameters and its reasonable to assume that a solution can be found.

we've just found out it's a bacterial infection causing it i had a red tail cat die from this last week and he was in completely diff tank also the pacu and sturgeon in with these cats and the koi that was in with the other red tail are perfectly fine and aren't showning any sign of infection
