red tail catfish

My redtail is my favorite fish but a big bad boy at 17" 9 months old He just ate my 10" peacock Bass. he is currently in a 125 Gal tank with a 17" Tiger Shovel nose and a 10" channel cat. He definitley rules the tank and will eat anything smaller than him (obviously) I do spoil him and he is very affectionate
 
i gave up on those guys, they just sit around and poop and eat ALL there tankmates. Im sure pleanty of us can vouche for that lol
 
RTC's need ALOT of space, they are almost better suited for ponds. Some are very docile and can be pet, handfed. they are not a beginner fish although they are very hardy. If you buy a RTC, and it has tankmates, you can count on some of them being eaten.

With appropriate space and tankmates (if any) there really isn't anything complicated with them.
 
if you have the tank for them there really cool fish so are tiger shovel nose but they can eat some big fish so keep that in mind they don't mind eating expensive fish like aros
