I'm trying to do as much research as I can get on these fishes but very few web sites have info on these fish. So if you know any thing about these fishes please tell me EVERYTHING:

Red tail catXtiger shovel-nose hybrid

Red tail catXmarbled cat hybrid

Red tail catXparoon shark hybrid
and
Asian red tail cat Any info will be apreciated photos, care, stories of yours, feeding, and ect... Also if you have found any new red tail hybrids please again tell me EVERYTHING. I'm just plain:screwy: for red tail cats but I'm proud of my problem!:D

First off most of the "hybrids" are new to the world so it's hard to give the whole life stats with any accuracy.

RTSN are great fish, they have the hunting ability of the TSN and the great nature of the RTC all rolled into one fish, they obviously resemble more the RTC but have the extra length of the TSN. Eatting is a constant hobby for them as it is with their parents, Personally I've found that they are very active and alittle on the stressed side... as I beleive I've seen more photos of them in a stresses color than a relaxed color I'm assuming that most people have this same situation only worse than me LOL. Sizewise your talking about a huge grower, there are members with confirmed 3yr olds in the 37-40" range... once you consider that these fish grow for life and are not done and still just kids...that equals a )\/(ONSTER CATFISH :D These are hardy fish like their parents and are easy for a begginer (which is actually a bad thing because of their potential size and relativly easy availability) These guys are being made in asia and there are no wild versions of these cats, any pictures that you see will be from a tank raised test tube version that was released into the wild (we suspect without an actual confirmation that these fish are sterile)

MRTC (marbled redtailed cat) Fairly common in the industry as far as hybrids go, sometimes refered to as a purreno X Redtailed Catfish as well however more likly a marbled cat and not the more rare and expensive Purreno. Just like anything which is crossed with a RTC these guys like to eat, the only real differences are that they are more fragile than most of the RTC Hybrids and Don't seem to have the hybrid vigor that is so popluar and requested in a hybrid.

PRTC (Parron x Redtailed Cat) extremly rare (I only know of 3 that are alive still) They seem to be constant swimmers like their paroon roots and also have a strange coloration which you have prob seen in the photos of some of the MFK members which have them. Also seem to have the RTC feeding habbits.

Asian Red tail Catfish, Species only tanks are required for these guys, they are just plain mean and will kill anything else in the tank. Not in anyway like the standard Redtail Catfish and only acheives lengths in the 3' range which is small in comparision to the SARTC (South Americian RedTailed Cat).

Hope this give you alittle more information, it's not everything but I'm not writing an article on each one  Who has that kind of time ;)

Thanks for the useful info I have a Asian red tail already in his own tank. somthing thats been buging me, I would like to know how big the paroon red tail gets?

you'll have to get in line, there are a couple of us that are on the hunt for these guys already, that is the only one that I know of currently.

It would probably be much easier to breed your own.

and why are we the only ones talking about this.
