Is this a red tail mixed with a paroon shark?

i'm shocked you can take a catfish from asia and mix it with a catfish from the amazon. However I can't really tell what this is. My prediction would be some sort of red tail paroon short body mix. I'm baffled it would live to this size. I can't say i'm a fan.

IMO you are correct on both accounts - RTC x paroon and a SB variant. I'm not a fan either but it tickles our great peer MFKer vincentwugwg vincentwugwg just in the right places :) This is his video, his tank, and fish.

I'd be surprised if it lives longer than a few years. How has it done for you, Vincent?

Most of these types of hybrid don't live beyond their first year... but this one is an exception. It was 3 years old before taking a stingray barb to the stomach. Must have hit a vital organ as it did not make it to the next day.

See, CoolComfort, Vincent didn't let me down. A straight, open, and honest shooter who aims to be helpful to all seeking to gain knowledge from his personal experience, no matter how pretty or ugly it might be. This is a benchmark of a true hobbyist and friend.

Shoot, talk about natural selection. Just when you would think it would have a good break.
There is nothing natural in this darwinesque occurence haha... neither the participant, nor the deadly encounter in a 4000 gal acrylic box...
