Red tail payara help !

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I guess a treat is okay but you really don't have to go back to live foods once your payara is eating frozen.I give my armatus a rotation of tilapia fillet, market shrimp and freeze dried krill. It is at least a foot long now.

how long did it take for you armatus to reach a foot??

It's been a while but it probably reached the twelve inch mark in about a year.....Carolines you could put quite a few different fish in there with your payara as long as they are not the least bit aggressive toward it and of course your payara cannot eat them.Payara usually don't stand up well to bullying when they are small so think some type of active but peaceful community fish.
