I am selling my red tail payara, Hydrolycus tatauaia, better known as a "tat".
I'm selling this guy to try to get money to get some more tigerfish. This guy is a great fish. He's healthy, colorful and extremely active. He readily feeds on both floating pellets and fillets.
I would VERY much prefer that you come pick this fish up. However, I recognize that most of the people who would be interested in this guy are no where close enough to me to pick him up. I will ship this fish, but you will agree that it will be AT YOUR OWN RISK. I have the proper styrofoam insulation and heat packs and baggies to ship him, but I will not be held liable if you choose to have him shipped and something happens.
Due to the difficulty of getting these fish to reliably eat pellets, I feel it is fair to ask a price similar to what the majority of MFK vendors would ask for a new, wild caught, untrained red tail: $200. If you want the fish shipped, you agree to pay the actual shipping cost plus $5 to cover the cost of the Hot Hands heaters that will go in the box. As I am not a vendor and do not have contracts with the shippers, I will have to get shipping quotes on a case by case basis, so serious offers only, please.
Some pictures from my update thread last week. Please bear in mind this tank is very dimly illuminated.
