I went to a local fish store by me today, decided to take my niece with, since she likes fishes. While we were browsing fishes, she wants a Red Tail Shark. What size tank can I have them in exactly? Will a ten gallon tank be fine to have a red tail shark in?Also what types of food can I give them?

That fish is unfortunately not appropriate for a 10 gallon tank due to their adult size of about 5-6 inches. Red tailed shark are semi aggressive and need a big enough tank to set up a certain section as their own territory. I wouldn't put him in a tank under 36 inches long. So 30 gallon or 40 gallon would work :)
I'll leave someone else to speak about diet.. mine wasn't a big eater and ended up croaking.

i have both red tails and rainbow sharks. They can get a lil size to them. Mine got to be just over 6 inches. IMO i think a 55 gallons is bare min. They are semi aggressive and need the room to swim. I would only recommend 1 per tank unless you have a really big tank. As for diet, mine eat anything i put in the tanks but seem to favor shrimp pellets. A ten gallon diffently to small for a Red Tail shark.
