rtcxtsn is not a good fishy to go for. scientists stripped down the genes of both fish and merged them. basically it is a clone. do not buy one!!! the longest recorded they have lived is 6months.
Well I guess I'm doing good then cuz I've had mine for almost 3 now.......but mines not a RTCxTSN hybrid...its RTCxsomething else....and you really believe that they stripped down the genes and cloned it? Seems like too much work and effort...plus the price would be higher. Seems like most of the pims would interbreed if no other same species was available...
they will grow fast. i had a rtc grow from 2" to 14" in about 8 months. they will grow slower if fed less often, but it always depends on the individual. not every fish from a spawn reaches the same size or grows at the same rate. if all fish are power fed, you will still have some that grow faster than others even if they are fed the same amount of food and kept in ideal conditions. genetics plays a big part. but when your dealing withthese types of cats, you can count on some serious growth no matter what as long as you provide for their needs.
Peanut Power,
Your cat looks like a RTC x P. perruno aka L. marmoratus hybrid. Also, to avoid confusion, there is a genuine species of catfish called a spotted shovelnose, Psuedoplatystoma coruscans. That hybrid thing should not be called a spotted shovelnose...maybe a shovelnose red tail. I sincerely doubt that any of these cats have been cloned.
