My Redtail is breathing only using one Gill. It's the right hand Gill he's not using. He seems fine at the moment, Just been a bit quite the last two weeks. But he's still small around 10-12" so I'd expect that as usuall for a small fish. I've only just realised this.

Any ideas?

I don't know what cause but I have a saltwater moray do the same for past 2 years, it will sometime only use either left or right gill to breath, no stresses or sick and eating very well and my tank extremely well oxygenated.

The more ive read up about it, cut a long story short. There "just chilling" I dropped some food in and he smashed the food with no issues and has been fine ever since. Quite common in a lot of fish, I thought it could of been fluke worm, but all his tank mates are fine.
