I have a false red terror that will barely ever eat and was wondering if this is normal of these types of cichlids. He will put the food in his mouth but spit it out and lose interest. He hasn't ate for about a week. I try to feed him bloodworms, brine shrimp, market shrimp, worms, pellets, and krill.

I do not even have to fast him for a week because he refuses any type of food now except pieces of nightcrawler sometimes. I don't know if he would rather have live or what his problem is.

the only time my fish have stopped eating is when they were breeding, but even then they still ate a little bit. and the only other time was when they had parasites, have you seen the colour of their poop recently?

how long have you had it? I got a small carpintis who wouldn't eat for over a week.

I have had him for about 2 months maybe more. He would eat fine but never to terribly much but now he almost refuses to eat. Would it be alright to treat the whole tank with the parasite treatment with the tankmates in there or do I have to put him in a separate tank?

Chances are that his tankmates will have the parasites as well. So yes you'd be better off treating the whole tank. IMO it is much better to dissolve the tablets before adding them to the aquarium. Good luck.
