Thanks guys. Yeah he is about 7 years old now so i dont know if he would be classified as to old as i have heard, but am not sure, that they can live to about 20 years or so.

7yrs IMO is old. i know of alot of people that barely keep their fish for a year! have you had the festae for the whole 7yrs?

BTW he looks really nice. how big?

Yep he has been in that tank all 7 years. Used to be a couple other cichlids in with him but i had to sell them off once he matured since all he wanted to do is kill them all lol. His size in roughly 13" to 14"

Great looking Festae. I wonder if male festaes turn more green as they mature. mines is at 9" and showing bright orange with red fins.

I think the color difference might be more of a regional thing.

That's nice male, it's also nice to see a full grown male

nice Male!And 7 yrs isn't old for a festae(imo).They usually are just getting to their full size at 5-7 yrs
My male is 11.5" at bout 3 yrs
