Jason_S knows his fish, especially the Festae. I would have to agree it looks like a Uro. The Festae I have started coloring up around 4-5". The males coloration depends on if he is breeding or not. I noticed the male Festae that I have had tends to fade, but when it's breeding time the bars darken and so does the body.

Red terrors are some pretty fish but what size do they have to get before theyre true color starts to come in?

3.5 to 4 in usually from what ive seen and read

My dad had one of these fish growing up. Killed anything you put in a 150 gallon. The female we had was so beautiful red, black bars that look like green in certain light. I live in the bay area now and have been looking for a fish like this for a long time. IF you can tell me where I can find a true red terror pm me I would really appreciate it.
