Red Terror?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo

That isnt always true. sexing festae can be one of the hardest things to do. but after youve grown out a few of your own from fry to adulthood, youll see what to look for and it becomes easier to see tell tale signs earlier on. there are plenty of threads on here about festae and they clearly show the difference between the sexes. the pic in this thread already show a reddish/orange color to the body which clearly means female. males have more of a greenish/yellow. they can both have spangles on fins and thru the body, but males will be more apparrent. the blotch in the dorsal will fool most people every time. the blotch in the female will be a permanent mark whereas the blotch in the males will fade in and out with body stripes.

To me thats too big...its like me living in a 4 bedroom house. I prefer a studio apartment, lol.

If the fish bought had been a Mayan, it still would technically be considered a Red Terror. There are 2 Cichlids with the common name Red Terror. So had you bought home the other fish the answer would have still been yes you have a Red Terror. Your inquiry should read Do I have a Festae? Then you have something real and not general to go from. A couple people dropped hints, hi-lighting the proper way to address the fish you have, which is indeed a very nice female Festae.

Thanks Freshwaterpredators.

I have added it to my wordpad on red terrors haha when I find 2 people breeding them who has nice adults not the washed out dull looking red terrors I normally find over here I think I will be ready to get my own pair!
