Red Terrors and Piranhas???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No. They cannot exist in the same aquarium. Either the Festae will be big enough to eat the piranha, or they will become meals themselves.

I'm not asking for those "Why would you try?". I'm asking if there's the smallest possibility that it can work out. Because, isn't everything trial and error?

personally, i think your zoo director must have a 3rd grade education in animal husbandry if he thinks this is remotely even a good idea. it's like putting hyenas and lions together in an enclosure because they happen to live together on the savanna. give me a friggin break. savannas and rivers don't have walls or glass. all it takes is one bite on the tail for the festae and it's over - the piranhas will have their way, easily.

I'd rather not bash him, but he's not the smartest one around. Would it be possible then in another exhibit with a full grown aro, full grown niger, full grown ray, and I do believe there is a good size severum in there?

ok, you see, that might be a good idea... keeping peaceful fish together is a yes. keeping fish that eat each other and beat the crap out of each other is a no.

i think your zoo director needs to pick up something called a book, or go on the wonderful internet and research on things before he decides to put three different things in a jar, shake things up and see what is still alive the next morning.

i fear for those animals in that zoo of his.

must be a weird zoo cause it seem so has some odd mixes of fish in each exhibit! sounds like your just sticking fish with fish! And another thing trial and error exists to the hobbist but should not happen at a zoo...IMO....all sounds pretty retarded to me! I mean shouldn't a zoo keep them with its natural habitants or as close as possible. Next thing you or your boss is gonna ask if you can have pandas and gorillas together in an exhibit.

Well, I didn't mean that kinda of way. He's stupid as in our African Exhibits should've been done by this year, but they're not. I'm probably going to go this weekend and check things out. They have a saltwater exhibit in the South American building, and hopefully, just hopefully I can convince him to turn that into Freshwater. I don't know, I'll see and hopefully I can talk to a zoo keeper while I'm there.
