Red terrors & texan

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's quite common for cichlids to eat their eggs/broods the first couple of times. They will get it right. If the eggs turn white it means they have fungused over and are "bad". In about 2 weeks they will most likley try again. Good luck.

that is a uropthalmus, a female red terror is electric colored, your is not

Couple of days. And it is a uro. About 90% of all uro's I have ever seen for sale have been listed as red terrors. The eye spot will be on the superior aspect of the peduncle, and the color will be much more intense (esp in a breeding female). Still a nice fish.

Ill take your guys word for it since youve seen the picture. I was told from other pet stores that it was a red terror and just immature. The other one though that i got with her was a male red terror and looked just like other pictures of male red terrors but she looked nothing except body shape to a female red terror, now i know why they didn't pair or get along. Ive looked at lots of pictures on the web even before this post but again you guys have seen the pic. It should still be an interesting fish when they breed again. Is there anyway other than the halo that i can tell in the future because at less than 2 inches small they seem almost identical.
