red texas and cubans

Actually it is. You need a fertile SRT male and female. Of course not every fry will be SRT. Some will still be unfaded. You can also achieve SRT from just one parent being SRT and the other an unfaded. You then line breed for desired color, pearls, body shape etc...And I should also note, out of a huge batch of fry, you may only get 1-2 fish that would be considered high quality....Two high quality fish will give you high quality fry. There is no secret recipe.

Judging from the way the OP posed his question it sounded like he was asking what 2 types of wish would yeild some SRT fry. That's why he asked what the formula was. Of course breeding 2 high quality SRT together would give you the best chance at SRT fry but try finding a fertile high quality SRT male.

yup!! Fertile male SRT are hard to come by..I have fertile males that are unfaded but have the most beautiful pearls that will produce quality Red Texas fry.

But a lot of the awesome SRT that you see in thailand are geniune F1 Siam Red Texas, which is Thailand GT male x BP or KKP female... yes many will not fade and some will fade..but it all depends on what traits you want to look for....It takes many pairings of GT and BP to find the right combination to get the desired result...like some said before in the thread..you will get only a few quality RT or SRT in a batch....so it is a long process.

Sorry I have not been on the forums for a while, been busy buying fish for the future breedings, work and family like take up time. If anybody has any questions, you can always send me a message and I will respond as soon as I can.

Bp x texas
Srm x texas
Mammon x texas
Rd devil x texas
Red shock x texas
And then it just selective breeding its a process many tried including me but its a lot of work and whn u dnt get wht u want it takes the fun out of it and u can it but from wht I seen and learned the best couple to start off wit is a male gt and a srm or mammon thats just my opinion....Red devils are good to bit many dnt like their body shape so try a midas ....A bp will gve u a variety of things some mauly not even fade some will its all on u..

Great info but these are the combos to make red texas not super red texas. Also with the Bp at least the texas needs to be the male because all if not most Bp males are sterile as are some Flowerhorns. In my opinion one could use this set of combos except the Bp x but sub the texas with a red texas or super red texas female ( for the reason of most being fertile) for a chance of producing Srt offspring. It would more likely take several generations to refine and stabilize them and most of us do not have the room to grow so many out to be able to only pic out the best for each generation.
