Red Texas (Faded)

As do female SRT.

edited to add, just checked the eyes of a past female RT I owned, indeed it's eyes looked exactly like this fish. Female was fertile, male was not & the males eyes were normal.

you guys talking nonsense with the eyes any fertility. lol

it's just a part of FADING

I agree about the fertility part, but this type of eye condition has nothing to do with the fading process.

To the OP, congrats on your new RT! :)

My RT is trying to do the dance with my male Vontehillo, I'm hoping female? But my female festae likes him too, and my festae is not having it! Festae chases the RT away every time they try to play.

but all four of my fader's n other fader's eyes go through that.

I have fader's and their eyes have that thing going on.

this Rt is a nice fish. yeah breed to the Vont. get some nice solid pearls. Or another faded RT for better chances of get more Faders rts out of them.

Ponce ... You better hope that your female festae keeps liking it. I would hate to think what might happen if she decided that she didn't like it. :)

Animal guy ...... unless someone can prove otherwise, I would consider that eye condition to be some type of hereditary ocular defect. The original "faders" used in FH breeding, Amphilophus labiatus & A. citrinellus, do not typically have this condition, nor do the vast majority of FH faders or RT's display this trait. It certainly has nothing to do with amelanism, the lack of melanin (black pigment) which is the condition that causes faders, to fade.
