Red texas fading red?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well the reddest I've seen from a texas x bp is cjbarth's fish that Water had for a while and that one already had some deep red before it faded.
You will get lucky if you get an actual red texas in few spawns and it has to be heavy in the vieja genes. Hope that helps

It's crazy you bring that up. I saw that thread the other day and was like wow that is a deep red! BUT... if this is the same fish that I'm thinking about, he sold it simply because it was not a "fader." Maybe he will chime in? But yeah that deep of a red didn't come after a "fading" process. That's what I was saying earlier on the thread... A blood red may be produced but the fish won't go through the fading process. I know that the vieja is where the actual blood red color comes from and the fading gene that is expressed in bp's comes from the midas. But the mixture of the 2 within the same fish I have yet to see. Hey Source310 I appreciate all the input... just trying to clear some things up.
