Red Texas vs Green Texas

So who here owns any? there is a green at my LFS, he is 69.99 and belive he is a male.. is that a good price? he is about 6-7 inches

I want to breed a pair in a 55 or thats what i would "like" to happen

I like the green ones a lot. Reds are more expensive though. SRTs are a lot of money, but those are the nicest, but not necessarily for breeding unless you get a fertile one...

yeah and there is no way to tell if they are fertile

are the greens easier to breed does anyone know?

I think so. I believe it's only the SRTs and Kamfas that are usually sterile...

the green texas are horny little bastards and will breed with almost anything the red are harder to breed and he super red i will let you know if i can get mine to breed i have on and another comming in a week and can get many more

RTs are more expensive usually. Get which one you think looks better. Fish Boy, I want some of those fry if successful,

you just down grade your already slim chances of getting fry that will peel and fade red using a green but the fish will still be nice looking so go for it if you like

dude i brought 4 faded srt 2inchers for 15 bucks and 2 started fading.
i have never seen more then 10 bucks a normal green texas around here.
if it has a giant hump at 10inches and was proven fertile.. maybe 60
but besides that that is highway robery
