red texas

i bout this at a lfs as a red texas at 2 inch now its about 4inch an looks nothing like a red texas what do u think it is

a "red texas" is a hybrid fish. what you have there very well may have been an attempt to make a "red texas" as it does clearly have texas genes in it. but i do agree with you that it does not look quite the same as most of the fish you see that are being called "red texas"
 
what kinds of food should i be feeding it right now i feed it shrimp,hakari gold pellets,night crawlers would that be good enoff

That's pretty good.
I feed my RT's Grand Sumo Original (They got KOK genes) Grand Sumo RED, Big Red fish food, Hai Feng. Those are for pellets.

They eat live shrimp, krill, and frozen bloodworms as treats.
Min looked like yours but now they are getting into the fading process.
 
Its not a super red texas, which are the bright beautiful red ones. Its a red texas, a low grade attempt at a srt.
