My red texas from Rainny loves sinking foods if I were you I'd try some soft and moist with krill from kensfish.com It has always brought out the reds good in my fish and they love it. It's dirt cheap and is great to feed on the side.

I will be getting a red texas. I really wanna increase the red:
  1. Is the red on the red texas strictly genetics?
  2. Which would be better at increasing red, New Life Spectrum or Tetra Color Bits? I've had really great experience with increasing some of my past marlboro discus red color using Tetra Color Bits, never had any experience with NLS and red fish though.
  3. Any tips or recommendations?
4. Can I put the red texas with other fish, or treat it like a flowerhorn and keep it isolated?

1. I believe its more genetics, and individual fish
2. I feed him NLS sinking and some chingmix
4. I would keep this guy solo, I had him with the batch for a while but had to move him since he beat the snot out everyone.

This was my favorite one, he has the best fins, the most red and the most aggression out of all 13 fry. I planned on keeping him but i need to downsize so i had to get rid of him. I hope you enjoy him, he will ship thursday for a friday delivery. And for $15, its a bargain, i paid $14 for 1" fry from thailand plus shipping and transshipper fees.

For $15 it's an incredible bargain. You don't want to know what juvies like that cost around here.

IME RT's are pretty much like RD's or FH when they mature, it's not often that you can keep anything with them. I kept an adult pair of red tex in a 125, but if it wasn't for some massive driftwood pieces that allowed the female to out maneuver the male, she probably would have been beat to tar as well.
