How/where should I go about getting one? I want one badly...just like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBGj2UtF1QM

There are ones at an LFS in milwaukee - havent seen them, but they told me they had them at $45

Another Petsmart in Green Bay had a label for them, but no fish in stock.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Well for starters one like that in the video you are gonna have to drop a pretty dime on. Anything you find at a local store will not nothing in comparison and anything at Petsmart isn't even a Red Texas. It all depends on how much you want to spend. I would check with Chris (cjbarth) and see what he has, he used to breed them and I think he still does.

I sent him a message, thanks.

Petsmart had a picture of a "red texas" on their label - is it the same sort of thing as what happened with the bluegrass aquatics?

^ not only that, but the fish in the youtube vid is a SRT, which is pricey like chris said. That quality don't come from your everyday fish store. CJbarth has really nice SRTs

I personally wouldn't call an unfaded RT an SRT. In Bangkok fish such as those shown in that vid can be easily found for under $50 US.

Fleshy - CJbarth has some nice RT's, at dirt cheap prices, but don't expect them to be red, most of those that fully peel will be orange. High end SRT's, that are fully peeled & that actually have a red base color can cost several hundred dollars, and up. Just keep in mind that some RT's do not fully peel, and will look like the ones shown in the vid their entire life.

Agreed

Not to be this guy - but can someone explain or show me a link to terminology? Im lost here with flowerhorn talk.

I dont care if he goes all red, I just want some red color. If he stays splotchy like that - Id love it! Are you saying that is more likely than getting one that is all red?

Thanks
