Awesome! If you can I would like to see a recent pic of the fish and where his tumor was to show us what it looks like post surgery.
The hybrid Redtail Tiger Shovelnose Catfish went in for surgery on March 20, 2006 to remove an external tumor attached to its left pectoral fin. The photo below was taken April 1, 2006 and shows the area where the tumor was cut away surgically; the wound appears to be healing very nicely. The question remains, will the tumor grow back? I’ll keep you monster fish keepers posted on any new developments in the condition of the 29 inch long catfish. The hybrid catfish now swims for hours at a time especially at night in front of the 7 foot window in the 2400 gallon back yard aquarium. The heated fish tank is about 60 feet from the house and my pet fish entertains us for hours at a time.

Ted, you are an inspiration to all monster fish keeper want-to-bes. I love your set-ups and would love to build something similar to your 2400g down the road. Keep up the good work.

That's very cool. Thanks for showing us the pics. Looks like your hybrid cat is saying thank you very much by swimming in front of the glass all the time. That's great that you cared enough for this fish to take it in for surgery. There are alot of people out there that would not have done this and the cat would have died. Mad Props to you! Hope the tumor stays dormant and the cat lives a long happy healthy life.

Awesome thread, thanks for the great pics and story! Hope the fish does well.

Glad to hear he is doing good.
