Red white bumps on rescue fish

Hi guys, I checked the disease guide but can't identify the disease on a fish I rescued today; to describe it, its like bumps on the fins of the fish, red/white from what I can tell, but the body is red anyway (blood parrot) so its difficult.

I'll try and get pics, but any ideas what this could be? I treated the tank with salt, as a precautionary measure before proceeding.

Some pics, I'm going to try and get clearer ones; its quite difficult to see in water etc, was very visible when netting the fish though

Possibly, but that would be going back a good 8 months or so; I seen the fish in healthier times, as it was originally mine before I gave it to the lfs, I stumbled on it recently though and being shocked at its condition, decided to bring it back and nurse it, before finding a responsible owner this time.

It used to be deep red, but had started to pale out even 6 months ago.

The most noticeable thing is white bumps on the fins, when I asked the lfs owner; I was told the fish had been in a few scrapes with a trimac, so I'm hoping this is something good water quality, peaceful tankmates and salt will fix; the lfs owner seemed to think it was some sort of parasite. I have no clue.

The pic is a little out of focus. If you could get a clear pic it would help. It takes a long time for the dye to wear off and the fish to regain it's natural color.

Will do, out at the moment; if it is a viral, I have pimafix and melafix available

Quick update guys, still trying to get a proper photograph; might have to net the fish to take a pic.

I talked to the lfs owner who swears it was "hookworm" which I'm guessing means anchorworm, I'm assuming in this case; elevated temps and salt wouldn't kill it?
