Red/White Vieja Hartwegi

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How do you know if they were really hartwegies :)?
So if they look like that then I think U got a Pink fene.

Hartwegies have the long body like a Nicaraguense cichlid and a lot of blue shiny patterns throuh the fish and face

I think this is a solid Hartwegi pair

Yeah, like i said before. You just never know lol. After looking at (too many) pictures online its definetly a fenestratus. Now im not sure if its pink fene or regular fene as ive seen red/white examples of regular fene with yellow Huez, which mine has. I cant find a pink fene with yellow coloring online.

Ill take Hi-res pics with my dslr and upload those in order to further confiar ourselves.

Atleast now im confident its fenestratus/pink fene.

Hartwegi is completely out of the question.

Nevermind...found some great examples of pink fenes showing yellows. Its seems to be 100% pink fene after staring at several pictures.

Well here it is again in all of its Pink Fenestratus glory. Im loving this fish's attitude so far. 2nd day with me and comes up to the camera like a true pro. Any gender indicators at this size? Or is venting the only way?

It looks like a 'pink' fenestratus (most likely female because of the piebald appearance) to me. No hartwegi in there. Here's a couple of pics ... one of a pink fenestratus pair, and another of a pair of hartwegi.
