Red wolf

I am not sure but I am pretty sure I have both sexes within my group. what I have noticed is that the one I believe is the male is larger in both lenghth and girth, has longer dorsal fin, and has more coloration, and is more aggressive. The one that I am pretty sure is a female is a good 3 inches smaller than the largest one and they were the same size when I got them also the larger one seems to want to hang around with the smaller one and the smaller one does not show much orange..
I think the way to sex the ery ery perus is by it's color. Am i correct? usually the males have the the most red on them to attract females. I think my old peru was a female since it only had a dullish red at the dorsal fin and a redish tinge at the belly.

Just my assumption.

^ where are you getting this sexing info from? As far as i know there is no way to sex and specie of Ery short of dissection, also that they are not bred in captivity

All the advice given so far is great, i used fabric canvas (like you make an algae screen out of) to cover any holes. Which hardly matters anymore because as they get larger they dont jump nearly as much and arent nearly as aggressive. Mine never got any actual "red" but a very light shade of orange, the rest of the wolves they had were normal lookin reds so i picked the oddball like i usually do for anything

look like my old ery ery. Not a peru for sure. The orange patch will grow as the wolf grow. I tend to get the red wolf with the most orange in the fish store lol.

Yes, I agree with Ery Ery.
The sexing is interesting. I remember reading something about the size and shape of the pelvic fins being used for sexing, but I can't find the link to it.

As I said I am not sure but I would say out of the four I have there is a good chance that they are of both sexes. I am making an educated guess as there are clear differences between them. As far as any documentation concerning sexing these I have not seen anything or any information concerning breeding of tese in the wild. I was was just stating my obsevations. I had this group of 4 for almost 2 years and have observed alot of interesting behaviors in the group that would lead to my assumption. I may be completley backwards the larger more colerful one may very well be a feamle and the smaller one a male.

In the pic you can see in the back ground the smallest. and in the second pic you can see some interesting interactions.....
