I am currently setting up a 75 gallon for 1x rainbow wolffish. I am thinking about adding a schooling fish for activity. What is everyone's thoughts about a school of exodons with a single rainbow wolf? Or tiger barbs? Or maybe some larger tetra? What else would be suggested? All fish would be purchased together and added at same time.
I will have a sand substrate with caves plastic plants and driftwood.

Adding a lurking predator on the bottom that watches for active prey above them, doesn't bode well for dithers. Growing up together (which isn't really true since the wolf is wild caught and has spent at least 1 year hunting dithers) doesn't turn off that predatory trigger.

Wolf will make short work of whatever it can eat.
You could breed guppies and put fry in there for the schooling aesthetic, replenish as necessary.

Although I did have a school of black skirt tetras with a small red wolf and was fine till it got to 10inches for a while. Was well fed and in a 125g.

What are your guys thoughts on buenos aires tetras with red wolves?

Worked for about a week with my 6 inch rbp, probably around there.

I have a school of exodons with a 6-7" red wolffish. Exodons get quite a bit bigger than tiger barbs and the other tetras mentioned. I have lost a couple of smaller ones when I missed a couple feedings in a row, but that was on me. The exodons completely ignore the wolf and are far more interested in terrorizing each other.
