29 for a while. Use the 10 as a QT for petsmart tankmates.

Exactly.

i have 4 red zebras in my 180 gallon tank. they are all about 4.5 inches long. i would say a 10 gallon is waaay too small for life. like someone else said, keep that 10gal for a hospital tank.

have you thought of getting a bigger tank, and adding a few more africans?

I don't have anything free but a 29 gallon and a few 10 gallons at the moment. Once I get more zebras-this time from a LFS, even though they are $10 a piece:irked:- I will set up a 75 gallon or 90 gallon. I just ordered fish for my 125 and 210 native tanks.....

well you could order africans (and those red zebras) off of online breeders for less than 10 bucks! thats outrageous! lol.. i bought from a breeder in KY (im in ohio) for i wanna say $4.50 a piece, and they are the "cherry red" variant.. they are beautiful, and i have bought repeatedly with the results being very healthy fish!

Thanks, I will look around...

Did the dead fish look as if they were attacked? Did you see the lone survivor threatening or fighting with them? My guess is that you probably bought some fish on the brink of death...

who did you buy them from? I'm not planning to order, but I'm in ohio as well, so I'm curious for future reference.

Have you been to the Ohio Cichlid Extravaganza in November? I went last year, and it was awesome.. You might want to consider it, even though it's a bit of a drive for you. (It's in northern ohio). There's people selling all kinds of unusual stuff there out of their rooms..
