Redbreast + Crappie

not to sure but dont both the red breasted and the crappie have to total differant water temps, i have aways read that the sunfish needs the warmer water and the carppie need the colder water. well aleast around me u can only catch sun fish during the warmer months and cappies in the colder months. If thats the case i dont think mixing them will work very well
Actually you are wrong about crappies have different water temps from sunfish because I caught both sunfish and crappies from same spot that's really warm on hot summer day. It's funny that you live in Florida and you don't think the crappies don't handle the warm water?

I caught that redbreast out of the cape fear river, it was cold as all get out. I'm fairly confident that the water temp and parameters won't be an issue. I'm mostly curious about the aggressiveness of the redbreast.

strange, i just find that weird. the only time i see crappie run is in the months of oct- march when the water is at 60 degrees and colder. I never see any sunfish untill late march/ early april to around oct when the water above 72 degree. just because the water doesnt freeze dont meant its not cold.

are u sure u caught a sunfish and crappie on a hot summer day? Thats cool if u did but that just dont seem correct. :)

(some info on crappie and cold water temps http://crappie.com/Articles-2010/water-temperature-and-crappie.html)

As far as the temperature goes, I've caught Bluegill, Green sunfish, longear, white crappie, and black crappie all in the same small stretch of creek on both chilly spring and autumn days and very warm summer days. I can't speak for redbreast specifically.
