Reddish Gar Update

Posted ths fella a couple of months ago. Now about 12 inches. Haven't grown much, fussy eater(hence the feeders). Colour still reddish though. I even changed the substrate from black sand to white two months ago as it was suggested the different colour was due to the dark gravel.

im wondering the same thing. but it looks like a florida/spotted or tropical to me, by looking at the snout.

Not too sure about the actual species. Previously someone on this forum mentioned shortnose? Perhaps someone can shed some light?

wow that is a amazing looking gar.... awesome specimen.... i kinda agree on trop gar but im not even 50% sure of that... solomon or richard will chime in on this im sure... they hopefully have some answers....
